My
Statement on the Life Matters Pamphlets
There has obviously now been a campaign launch
to contact me in regards to the
‘Life Matters’
pamphlet. This statement is
to those who are now making contact since the most
unprofessional and shoddy journalism of Tory Shepherd.
Once again Ms. Shepherd refused to check the facts and
launched a personal attack, nothing like playing the ball not the
man when the facts cannot be disputed.
Of all of the emails I have received not one
has pointed out any of the misinformation information contained in
the pamphlet.
According to Dr. Turnbull (The Advertiser 19th October,
2011 – Letter to the Editor) the pamphlet is accurate and well
referenced, but she states it is the images that are disturbing,
as they would be.
The “pro choice” lobby have proven no case and
have relied on their own emotive language and examples in an
attempt to shut down the public discussion on the facts about
abortion that are now well known to the general public.
If those facts were well understood and well known then
perhaps support for “abortion on demand” would wane and it is my
belief this is their fear.
It is also my belief that the way is being paved for full
term abortions to be offered in South Australia and if this is the
case then you can be guaranteed that this information will flood
the community.
The pro-choice lobby has been insulting,
intimidating and misleading in their own responses and have
resorted to personal attack rather than being clear about the
misinformation. I exercised my democratic right to distribute
information to raise awareness in the community and will continue
to do so. I represent another sector of the community that
disagrees with this lobby and that also is their democratic right.
It is indeed disturbing when the truth incites hate speech
and that is somehow seen as acceptable by a group of people who
are so concerned about women’s rights.
The hypocrisy of this screams out to be acknowledged.
I make no apologies and I stress that from the
phone calls, emails and letters I have received the opposition to
the pamphlet still comes into the minority.
